I had my two month follow up doctor's appointment. I went in excited to see and hear the results. In the last two months I have managed to loose quite a bit of weight, have increased the amount of physical activity and also changed much of my diet.
I arrived at my appointment on time, which in this office does not seem to matter. I still had to wait nearly an hour to see the doctor! When she did finally come into the room she asked "have you been taking your medications?" I told her that I had and she mentioned that she was disappointed to hear that. That was when my excitement started to decrease. She told me that none of my numbers had improved - my bad cholesterol is still high (higher in fact) and my good cholesterol is low. My vitamin D has not improved and I am still at high risk of diabetes and pancreatitis. It was all very disappointing.
The few bits of good news though. I have lost weight - according to their records 16 pounds since my last visit. I also have seen some slight improvement in my blood pressure.
It was very hard to go from so excited to so disappointed considering all the work I have put into this. I am going to continue onward though and hope for the best. This blog and my 100MON challenge has been a great motivation (even if no one reads or comments). I have a follow up appointment in two months so I will keep you all posted.
I know if you keep doing what you are doing all the numbers will improve! I love your blog and what you are doing...you are inspiring to me.
