Just four and a half weeks away from 100MON. I am feeling optimistic about it but know I still have a lot of work to do - but I am certain I can do it. This week is going to be busy with some family functions and so I will need to be sure and get my miles in early.
Saturday Global Bikes on Facebook offered gift cards to the first five people to post a picture of something Global Bikes related. I posted on their wall a picture of my bike hanging on the wall and won! I now have a $25 credit at their Gilbert location. I am trying to decide whether to apply it towards the shoes and pedals or if there is enough to get gloves, another water bottle cage, and a headlight.
Sunday on Facebook I heard from an old friend. He lives in Utah and we have not communicated much over the years. He commented on a photo a while back and mentioned that he too is into cycling (although he is several levels above me in skill and capabilities I am sure). I wish we lived closer so we could ride together but will settle, for now, with bugging him on Facebook as I have any questions.
Today I did another 35 miles. I enjoyed Brown Road so much on Saturday I rode it again today. I left really early (about 4:20) and nearly froze my butt off. I was surprised when I got home and found everyone still in their beds. I showered and sat in the chair with the kids for a while. When I tried getting up and moving I really began to feel the 83 miles I had put in over the weekend. Speaking of miles, I did the math and discovered that in April I put in just under 250 miles!!
