Bringing them to the Surface

This week has been an unusual one.  I did really well during the week on my diet and workout plan.  Friday though while at work I got the munchies and ate way too much Bear Naked.  I think that got me on the downward spiral for the weekend.

Saturday I met Sam at the YMCA and we got setup on our bikes.  The class got going and so did we.  Sam spent a lot of time in the saddle as did I my first time.  He did not give up or pass out so kuddos for him in that aspect.  Once the class ended we made our way to the weight room to pump some iron (sounds stupid when I say it).

Sam had me start by doing some push ups.  I did two reps of five on the ground while he did two of ten with his feet elevated - show off.  We then moved to some machines focusing all on arms, back, and chest.  I was most proud of my bench presses - I was surprised with my strength.  What was the most difficult for me were the pull ups.  I am afraid I may be wading through cold water rather than hanging from monkey bars come January (I don't think I have even yet made reference on GOZO Cycling yet of my new blog project - check it out here).

Saturday afternoon and Sunday I could feel it all in my arms and chest.  It feels great though.  I feel that under my coat of fat there is some muscles.  Just need to get them up to the surface.

  1. I have to say I was impressed by the bench press you completed. I think we could of stacked some more weight on there. It was actually a great time working out, it's so much better when you have a work-out partner. Next time we will have to step up and work especially on the items we struggled on.
