Snapping Photos in the Gym

I almost did not make it to spin class today.  I had my alarm set and I woke up about an hour before it went off to go to the bathroom.  At that time I set the phone to vibrate figuring I would not resume a heavy sleep and would wake up to it.  I was wrong I guess.  My intent was to minimize the disturbance to my wife as I got up and out the door.  Rather than returning to my bed at 3:30 I slept the last hour on the couch.  I woke up again almost 20 minutes late when Maria got up to use the restroom and found me on the couch.

I did make it though - only about 5 minutes late.  The class was still working on doing a warm up so I did not miss too much.

I stayed after class late so that I could snap some cell phone pictures to document my time and experience in the gym.  I am not sure that the other patrons would enjoy me using photography equipment (do cell phones fall under that catagory) in the gym.  I would set the camera on the seat of a bike near me or across me, set the timer, run across the room and pose.  I am sure it was quite a sight for the woman in the class work area across the hall from me - I did not realize she was there but I did catch her watching me.

Today was also the first day that I wore a sleeveless shirt (pretty wicked farmers tan eh?).  I really liked it and may be doing it more often.  It kind of worries me though.  I went from shorts to no shorts and now sleeves to no sleeves - what's next??!  I think what makes the shortless and sleeveless thing so nice is that there is little or no moving air in this room.  The extra clothing just collects sweat and hangs on you.

When I got home my little boy was surprised with the new shirt and asked "Dad, what are you wearing?"  He then said that he wanted to go the the Y and ride bikes too.  It helps to realize that the changes I am making and working towards will not only change my life but will have a great impact on the lives of those around me.

I had Maria snap a picture of me when I got home too (using a real camera - notice the quality).
