"Did you hear about the Arnold fiasco?"

I have not been back on my bike since Saturday.  Not because I have not wanted to but because I do not have any more inner tubes (actually I have three - all with holes in them).

Holes in tubes are not new to me.  When I was a kid I rode my bike for hours and hours a day during the summer.  The two wheels served as my freedom and source of adventure.  Although a great place to grow up, St. Johns is plagued with bull-head stickers - they were everywhere.  The difference between now and then is that I had a mechanic to do all my bike maintenance.  He was always very quick and professional.  The best part is that he never charged me so much as a dime.  These days, though,  my dad the mechanic is not serving me in this capacity.

This brings me to today's big question: To patch a tube or not?

I have patched many a tubes before; but when I went to the bike shop to get everything I needed to repair a flat there was no discussion around repairing the tube - instead it was immediately determined that I needed to replace the tube.  I have been through about $20 worth of tubes and am now thinking that I might need to look into getting a patch kit so I can get some more life out of each tube.

On another note.  I went today with Maria to water aerobics.  I have to admit it was a lot of fun and a good workout.  I was one of two guys there and the youngest of the entire group.  I got to hear all the latest gossip surrounding Arnold, Dancing with the Stars, the strange weather and more.  If it did not conflict with work schedule I might be inclined to attend more often.
