Whipped and Tattooed

My training schedule is again being interrupted.  I observed my day of rest today but did not make it to my doctors appointment this morning.  I am now going to have to go tomorrow which may interrupt my riding for tomorrow.  Saturday I have also been asked to pick someone up at the airport and may have my little brother with me in the morning (not sure I am ready for him to make fun of me in my SPAM suit yet).  I have to get these miles in though so it may be another really early morning on Saturday and Friday.

Last night as I was getting into the shower my wife noticed what looked like welts on my arms.  I looks like I have been whipped.  When I looked at them I recognized them right away and laughed.  When I went out yesterday it was closer to mid day and the sun was much higher in the sky than the times I normally ride.  I had put on sun block (just my arms) but the sleeve of the jersey must have rode up just enough for a thin red line to burn itself on me between the sleeve and sunblock.  Upon further investigation I also noticed the tops of my knees were burned too.

You can think what you want of me but this actually kind of excites me.  I can't wait to have the cyclist tan lines.  It somehow would indicate in my own mind that I have done my time on the bike.  I guess for me it would be much like a tattoo that appears and disappears with my level of commitment.
