Valentine's Day

I spent Valentine's Day at a nice hotel in Scottsdale with another man...  My wife made arrangements for Josh and I to ride in the Valley this weekend and we had a pretty good time.  I took my daughter and dropped her off with Grandma at my brothers house and headed to the hotel.  I got in pretty late, about 10pm and we settled in and went shopping for breakfast and other items for the ride.  We woke up got ready and headed out. 

Walking out the door we almost immediately ran into problems - the only key to the hotel room was inside the hotel room - we were outside.  We made a quick trip up to the lobby to get a new key.  While Josh was in getting a key I had a little chat with a valet guy.  He said he too rides and asked where we were headed.  I told him our basic plans (didn't really have a plan) and he gave some good suggestions.

We did as he suggested and rode down the Scottsdale greenbelt, I had seen it but never ridden it.  It took us all the way down to Tempe Town Lake.  We did a lap around the lake and hit Rural Road South to Baseline. We took Baseline to Mill and took Mill to Van Buren to 64th Street.  That took us all the way back to Indian School and to the hotel.

After showering and packing up we swung by a Tri shop in Scottsdale and roamed around.  Josh found some tri-suits on closeout that he wanted to get but when he tried them on they did not work out for him.

This was Josh's first ride with his new shoes and pedals - he really liked them.  He never fell so he seems to have them worked out.
