Went riding today with Josh to Concho, Hunt, to San Juan Meadows. The plan was to ride the full 45 miles but we fell short by five. When we made the call we were already a half hour over our allotted time and thought we were further out than we were. Even when it was discovered that we were so close to finishing I still opted for the ride back in to town. I had bitten off more than I could chew today.
In hindsight I would have eaten breakfast and a fuller lunch. I would have hydrated better and worn sun block. And in all honesty I would have probably also stuck with nothing more than the 24 mile ride to Lyman and back.
It was still fun, a great work out (3,800+ calories), and I still have a sense of accomplishment (haven't done 40 in a long time). Josh, on the other hand did really well. I may not have gone as far as I did had he not been there.
