I did not go to spin class yesterday because the wife and I were going to go the gym together in the afternoon when I got home from work. She was tired and not wanting to go and sent me alone. I decided to attempt something that I had not done since November 2003 - run a mile non-stop.
I remember the date so well because not only was it the last time I ran a mile without stopping but it is the only time I have done it!! In high school I ran the mile every Friday in PE but always walked some part of loops around the football field. November 2003 I ran a mile with a friend who pushed me to complete it without slowing to a walk.
Last night I stepped onto the treadmill and set the speed to 5 mph and refused to slow it until I had reached a mile. I actually, twice, increased the speed because it seemed to make it easier on my cadence. When I was done I felt great and decided to stretch and do some weights. It was in that moment that another first in my life occurred (or at least a first in a long time) - I was able to touch my toes while keeping my knees locked!!
Now I just cant wait to see my toes while standing straight and looking down - poco a poco - step by step, right??
I am amazed by you! You can do anything physical you put your mind to.
