SPAM Kit

I hit the road really early today (at about 5:30).  I have always heard that black was slimming so I figured in the black of the early morning hours would be the best time to venture out for the first time in nothing but spandex shorts and jersey (a SPAM jersey none-the-less).  Walking out the door felt very weird - I felt exposed.  Once I got on the bike and got going I could understand better the appeal of cycling apparel.  With my gym shorts and cotton tee I always felt like I had a head wind - felt like I was being pulled back.  I would get off the bike and discover that there was no wind - not even a breeze!  I don't know if it was just the placebo effect or if there was actually a difference. 

Going out before the sun came out might become a regular thing for me.  I enjoyed seeing the sun come up over the Superstition Mountains.  In the past when I would go out at 7:00 I would get home just in time to shower and rush out the door to work.  Today I got home with time to help with some chores and took the kids to the park.
