I am starting to feel that I have bitten more than I can chew. I feel that a 100 mile ride is a HUGE undertaking for someone who has only owned a bike for two and a half weeks. I have been reading another blog (click here) of a guy in the Air Force who also decided to jump on a bike, with no experience, and set a goal to complete 100 miles. While the blog just ends randomly without ever stating if he succeeded; you can read just how difficult it has been for him training for the task. Right now I am 7 weeks from the event and have logged in total less than 50 miles on a bike over two weeks. If I am going to do this I need to start getting in a lot more miles and hours on the saddle.
As for sponsors I am hoping to get 10 people to sponsor 10 miles each for $8.50 (eight and a half bucks buys you ten miles). The ride is for charity and I don't think I would have a hard time convincing 10 people to help (although so far I have had a hard time getting even 1!). Maybe I need something else to entise donors, ideas?
You are the craziest! But knowing you and how determined you are I know you can do it!
