Good evening,
That is awesome that you are looking to get a bike! I took a look at the bike and it looks good for what your planning on using it for and Trek has been around for quite some time. One question though. Would you prefer a bike like the one you suggested or are you looking for an actual road bike which you could use for cycling outside of commuting? A road bike would entail clip in pedals and things like that. Has a little different of a feel to it. Let me know if the purpose is exercise/workout or recreation/commuting.
And here is my response back:
Thanks for responding.
I am wanting loose some weight is the biggest thing. I would like to become a hard core cyclist one day but want to start someplace realistic. Right now I want a bike that I can take out before work for a good round trip ride and maybe work up to riding to work (I live about 25 miles from here via freeway). I want to be legit but also don't want to look like I don't know what I am doing? I don't want the Wal-Mart Mongoose but also don't want the top of the line. I only have about $400 to spend and want the best for that amount. Any suggestions you might have I am open to.
Thanks again.
I am going to see if he wants to go to lunch sometime or if we can just sit for a minute or two. I would to get a good idea of what he is thinking and what additional things I should consider.
